TALES OF MOTHERHOOD - TALE ONE: EMILY + ALLEGRA

Welcome to Tales of Motherhood, where we catch up with friends of Etta Loves about their honest experience of motherhood.

First up is Emily @ourlondonlittlelife and her first daughter Allegra aka Chops.

Tell us about you and your family?

In July 2024 we welcomed our first child Allegra into our family and our world has been 100x better since. We already had a little sausage dog called Udon and the addition of Allegra has added a whole other level of happiness to our lives.

What advice would you give to a new mum?

Trust your gut and do what you think is right for you. There are so many opinions and different ways of doing things but we’ve just focused on what we think is right for us as a family. For us happiness and fun is at the centre of everything we do, which is why we go away so much as that’s when we’re at our happiest!

What's the hardest part of your day with a baby?

I would say 5:30-6:30pm when I’m trying to keep Allegra awake for Hugh coming home. She’s so tired by then but he loves bathing her when he’s back! That hour feels like a whole day

What  do you enjoy most about parenting?

Having a little best friend to do everything with. I love taking her on little adventures and showing her the world, when shes happy I’m happy.

How do you spend a normal day?

We always get out and about at least once a day, usually to a baby class or to see friends. When we aren’t doing that, we’re dancing in the kitchen or playing on her activity mat in the living room.

What are some activities that you enjoy as a family?

Baby sensory is my favourite thing ever, I love how excited she is by it all. We also love taking her swimming, she’s at her happiest in a pool floating around!

Why does every Mum need some Etta Loves magic?

In the first few months Etta Loves toys saved us. Allegra is such a little busy body so they kept her so entertained! The hanging squares were a personal fave and we literally used to hang them on everything and anything. They were so good hanging on the pushchair, they meant we could actually eat a 3 course meal at a wedding in September.

Thank you so much Emily, and if you want to be 'saved' by our products too :) you can find the hanging squares here
